Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 18, 2026

Paternal (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the Paternal mobile application and website. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Paternal, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

Account information: the email address you use to register, and any name you choose to add to your profile.

Pregnancy data you enter: due date, partner and baby names, preferences, symptom logs, appointment notes, saved baby names, kick and contraction sessions, and your go-bag checklist.

Usage data: anonymous analytics such as which screens are opened and buttons tapped, used to improve the app. We do not sell your data.

2. How we use your information

To display your pregnancy timeline, daily feed, and tools, and to sync your data across your devices when you sign in.

To send optional reminders you enable, such as appointment follow-ups.

To diagnose bugs, prevent abuse, and improve the product.

3. What we do not do

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.

We do not share your pregnancy or health data with advertisers.

Paternal is not a medical provider. Nothing in the app is medical advice — it is general information to help you follow the pregnancy.

4. Data storage and security

Your data is stored on secure servers and transmitted over encrypted connections. Each user’s records are isolated so only you (and our admins, as needed for support) can access your data.

No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard safeguards.

5. Calendar integration

If you connect Google Calendar, Paternal can create and update prenatal appointment events on your behalf. Calendar access is granted through Google’s OAuth and can be revoked at any time from your Google account or in the app’s settings.

6. Your choices

You can edit or delete your profile, logs, and saved data at any time within the app.

You can request export of your data or full account deletion by contacting us. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

7. Children

Paternal is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “last updated” date above. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.

9. Contact

Questions about this policy or your data can be sent to support@trypaternal.app. We will respond as soon as we reasonably can.
