1. Acceptance of terms

By downloading, installing, or using Paternal, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. The app and its purpose

Paternal is a field guide that helps expectant fathers follow a pregnancy, track symptoms and appointments, and use simple counting and timing tools.

Paternal is an informational tool, not a medical device, healthcare service, or substitute for professional medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider for medical decisions.

3. No medical advice

All content in the app — including articles, safety lookups, size comparisons, and tool results — is general information provided for convenience.

Do not rely on Paternal for diagnosis, treatment, or emergency decisions. If you or your partner experience an emergency, contact your healthcare provider or emergency services immediately.

4. Your account and conduct

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity on your account.

You agree to provide accurate information, to use the app lawfully, and not to misuse, reverse-engineer, scrape, or disrupt the service.

5. Your content

You own the data you enter (symptom logs, names, notes, etc.). You grant us a limited license to store, display, and process that data solely to operate the app for you.

You are responsible for the content you enter and for ensuring you have the right to enter it (for example, your partner’s information).

6. Subscriptions and payments

Where Paternal offers paid features, purchases are processed through Apple’s App Store and governed by Apple’s terms. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

Refunds are handled by Apple per its own policy. We do not issue refunds directly.

7. Intellectual property

Paternal, its design, content, and code are owned by us and protected by applicable laws. You may not copy, redistribute, or create derivative works without permission.

8. Disclaimers

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that results will be accurate or reliable.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Paternal and its authors are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including any medical decisions made based on its content.

10. Changes to the app and terms

We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time. We may also update these Terms; material changes will be reflected by updating the “last updated” date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Termination

You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or for any reason at our discretion.
