Why this app exists

Built by a dad
who needed it.

Every pregnancy app I downloaded during my wife's pregnancy was built for her. Tracking her symptoms, logging her moods, sending her week-by-week updates about what she was feeling and experiencing. Which is fine. She was the one doing the hard part.

But there was nothing built for the person standing next to her — the one trying to figure out what was actually happening, how serious any of it was, and what to do other than nod and say "you've got this."

I'm Chace. I built Paternal because I needed it and it didn't exist.

It started as a simple question tracker I made for myself before prenatal appointments, so I'd actually know what we were walking into instead of asking which scan this was in the parking lot. Then it became a safety lookup when I needed to know whether something she'd eaten was a problem and didn't want to text her midwife at 9pm. Then a contraction timer that worked one-handed in the dark.

The app you're holding is everything I wished I'd had. It's built around the premise that showing up informed and prepared — not just supportive in a vague, hand-squeezing way — is one of the most useful things you can do.

The core tools are free. They'll stay free. I'm not trying to charge you for the contraction timer.

Have feedback? I read it. chace@trypaternal.app
